New Earrings // Sketches for Class

First off, some pictures of these really long feather earrings I just bought!

Now, for school I had to pick a Complementary, Analogous, and Monochromatic pictures, and create some designs based off the inspiration I got from them. Here they are below!

Paper Doll Project

For one of my fashion classes last week we made a paper doll and some outfits. One design being a more traditional type of fabric, and the others being something made out of non-traditional materials like beads, cotton balls, or just whatever you can make an outfit out of. I used the fabric of an old sequin shirt for my traditional fabric, and for my non-traditional I used beads, thread, and feathers. Here are some pictures below.

Now this week in class we're doing stuff for New York Fashion Week! I'll make a post about that tomorrow because I'm going to get started on doing my traditional "favorite shoes for F/W" and not just from this season but from any season I find shoes from that I love! :)

Hard at work // Outfit Post

Currently working on a shirt for Apparel class, its due on Wednesday so hopefully I'll be done by then but first here is Saturday's outfit post, I've been in comfy pajamas all day sewing today and its honestly really mind blowing how long it takes to make a simple shirt. Seamstresses must be really bitchy or just super patient because I know this crap takes me hours upon hours to do and I end up in a horrible mood, with barely anything done! I still have sleeves, a collar, and a button placket to do all in just two days. Looks like it'll be a couple of sleepless all-nighters! So anyway, Saturdays outfit.

This bracelet found on my shopping trip Saturday only cost $1 at Goodwill! I was freaking shocked when I found it, it was right next to the cash register so I wouldn't say this was an impulse buy. I've been looking for studded leather bracelets everywhere that don't cost as much as my car like the one Hermes created, which is beautifully designed, and also the original.

And last, my new Big Buddah bag! I didn't use it with this outfit but I just bought it and this was a great find at a local Plato's Closet here by my college and I checked online and this bag retails for about $100 but I only paid $25 for it! :)

Happy Birthday Mom // Randoms Post

First off I would like to start this post wishing my mother a very happy birthday! This was a photo taken last year, because I am away at school I cannot take a new one like I did last year. But I bet I'll have my chance once I come home to visit!

Now, this weekend was really crazy, I did so much! I'll post pictures once I receive them but for now heres a picture of this really cool tank top I found. I've been looking for some plain graphic tops to wear on days when I'm feeling like a slacker haha so here it is pictured below with a couple of randoms. Shots of my new dorm? Its a work in progress! :)

New flats! I love the neon blue color inside. I bought a pair in blue and they have a neon green sole!

And the reason I've been m.i.a. is...

HOMEWORK! ...duh. But oddly enough it doesn't bother me. Maybe because it has absolutely nothing to do with math or chemistry, which are my least favorite subjects! Studying fashion is fun. Its easy to do, and all you have to do is sketch or sew. Two things I love but can only sometimes get annoying due to too much exposure. Just look at what I've been doing just these past two weeks.

Just the beginning sketches of a project for one of my classes. Creating 5 designs based of the Adrian Stripes.

I really like the colors I used for all these But my favorite has to be the one above. I wanted it to be pretty colorful, Christian Diors Spring/Summer 2011 was a big inspiration for me with this project. I love the colors used for the shoes so that was really a great muse. I also wanted to pick colors that looked good with my model drawings hair.

This project was to create 6 designs based off a flower. Now, I was looking for White Oleanders because White Oleander is a favorite book of mine but then I came across this Dahlia flower. I love the colors red and purple and when they're together, they look great! So here are my designs below. 4 is my best work I think, just because it represents the flower best.

Now, my favorite part of this post! My moodboards. We had to design 5 for the class. But I think the ones that represent me best, and obviously my favorites, would be the first two. Bohemian, and Girly Punk/Grunge.

Visited the library, found the very first issue of Vogue or at least I think it is, this was the oldest they had. Its so weird to see how far they've come since 1942!

Just a few of the Vogues, I swear I think they had every issue! Or separate issues in just one book.

And I just about died when I saw these...

So I guess I'm gonna be pretty busy with school for a bit. Outfit posts are a bit difficult to do right now. Just because of the lack of time. Those sketches alone took days! But i'll try to post as much as I can! Quick outfit snapshots will probably be frequent for awhile.

Just About Done

Quick snapshot of todays outfit, my cameras currently dead and I'm in no position to get batteries at the moment so these pictures where taken by Macbook's PhotoBooth. Worn with jeans and brown leather boots and my favorite Hermes bracelet!

I'm practically all settled at school now, so ready to get things started with my fashion classes!
